Recreation

Activities

Washington Park on the west side of Portland is a 20 minute drive from the conference location, or about 1 hour via public transportation. The park includes multiple beloved attractions like the Oregon Zoo, Portland Japanese Garden, and International Rose Test Garden. Also check out the nearby historic house museum and grounds of Pittock Mansion.

Portland’5 Centers for the Arts manages downtown cultural venues like the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and Keller Auditorium. Shows scheduled for the weekend of April 10-12 include the Broadway hit Avenue Q, the modern ballet Princess and the Pea, and an Oregon Symphony concert of pieces by Ravel & Saint-Saëns.

Shopping

The Cascade Station shopping center by PDX Airport contains many large retail stores, including IKEA and Target. The Cascades light rail stop is less than 10 minutes on the MAX Red Line from the airport.
